Understanding the Disease

TSC-associated Seizures

SEIZURES ARE THE MOST COMMON BRAIN-RELATED SYMPTOM OF TSC

Most people with TSC start having seizures as infants or toddlers. But about 12% of people with TSC who never had seizures in their childhood experience their first one as adults. People with TSC can have almost any type of seizure. Most people with TSC have a type of seizure called partial onset, which affects only a part of the brain. No matter which kind of seizure you or your family member has, it is very important to manage the condition with your neurologist.
